Cloud Solution Architect (AWS/DBX) - Contractor
Hiflylabs, a Budapest-based company with 250+ employees, is looking for a Cloud Solution Architect (AWS/DBX) contractor to support and evolve a client's cloud architecture and Databricks platform on AWS. Working closely with the client's engineering and platform teams, you will design, implement, and optimize a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud data platform. The role goes beyond implementation: it requires architectural thinking, ownership of platform design, and a strong focus on automation and standardization across environments.
Responsibilities
- ▹Design and implement scalable AWS cloud architectures with a strong focus on networking and platform stability
- ▹Architect and manage AWS networking components (VPCs, routing, egress control, hybrid connectivity)
- ▹Build and maintain Databricks platform architecture on AWS, ensuring best practices and scalability
- ▹Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, with a focus on reusable and modular design
- ▹Define and implement cost allocation models across tenants and projects
- ▹Design and develop CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Declarative Automation Bundles - DAB) to enable automated deployments
- ▹Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define platform standards, governance, and best practices
- ▹Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual operations and improve reliability
Requirements
- ▹Strong hands-on and architectural experience with AWS cloud environments
- ▹Deep expertise in AWS networking, including VPC design, egress control strategies, and hybrid (on-prem and cloud) connectivity
- ▹Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure and network automation
- ▹Strong experience in Databricks on AWS, including platform setup and management, with deep understanding of Databricks architecture and components
- ▹Solid knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) in both AWS and Databricks
- ▹Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- ▹Ability to operate at both hands-on and architectural levels
Nice to have
- ▹Experience with Microsoft Azure
- ▹Familiarity with multi-cloud environments
- ▹Experience with advanced automation frameworks and DevOps tooling
- ▹Background in platform engineering or internal developer platforms (IDP)
