Glovo, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Quick-Commerce Global Services team in Barcelona. Working in a Central Team, you build scalable solutions supporting the Group's global ecosystem, as part of a cross-functional team focused on the onboarding and early stages of vendors on the next-generation platform.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Work on the next-generation Quick-Commerce platform providing groceries and other daily urgent needs (drinks, fruits, snacks, batteries).
  • ▹Collaborate closely with product managers, engineering leaders and leadership across Q-Commerce.
  • ▹Work in a cross-functional team focused on the onboarding and early stages of vendors.
  • ▹Troubleshoot issues, identify complex problems, analyze potential solutions and workarounds, and provide timely fixes.
  • ▹Raise the collective level of expertise within the team around best practices, design patterns and system design.
  • ▹Set high standards for engineering excellence, performance, scalability and security through example and mentorship.
  • ▹Drive technological improvements through RFCs and other tools to explain, discuss and align decisions.
  • ▹Assist domain leads in setting the technical vision and strategy, and lead the creation and improvement of scalable, reliable systems.

Requirements

  • ▹7+ years of experience developing backend applications using Java and/or Kotlin.
  • ▹Experience with observability tools for monitoring/alerting/logging/distributed tracing (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog).
  • ▹Experience with message brokers (SNS/SQS, Kafka, or Pub/Sub).
  • ▹Rigor in high code quality, automated testing and other engineering best practices.
  • ▹Experience leading initiatives that involve multiple squads or stakeholders.
  • ▹Fluent English communication skills.
