
Senior Sales Engineer - Italian Speaking
Algolia, a pioneer and market leader in AI Search, is seeking an experienced, curious and driven Solutions Engineer to help customers realise the full value of its platform in a fast-growing market. This is a critical part of Algolia's go-to-market organisation, working closely with Sales and Solutions partners to drive revenue, customer adoption and best practices. You will own the technical pre-sales relationship across opportunities and accounts, acting as both a deep technical expert and a trusted advisor. The role is hybrid and requires fluency in Italian and English.
Responsibilities
- ▹Work with Sales teams and prospects on their evaluation and adoption of Algolia solutions
- ▹Understand and qualify customer goals with KPIs and articulate Algolia's ability to meet them
- ▹Assist in the sales process: discovery, demo, Proofs of Concept (POC), RFP responses and business justification
- ▹Develop custom search applications leveraging the Algolia ecosystem's tools, frameworks and partners
- ▹Distill and advocate customer interests, needs and product feedback to Product and Engineering teams
- ▹Continuously learn and keep aware of industry trends in the Search and Discovery space and contribute to thought leadership
- ▹Work with Solution Architects and Customer Success teams on a seamless transition to the post-sales process
Requirements
- ▹Fluency in Italian and English
- ▹Obsession with solving customer problems
- ▹4+ years experience in a customer-facing technical role (SE, SA, consultant, PM), ideally in SaaS
- ▹Previous software development experience in front-end (JavaScript, TypeScript, React) and/or back-end (Java, Ruby, Go, Node, Python, Swift/Objective-C)
- ▹Experience with data formats and data transformation
- ▹Great oral and written communication skills
- ▹Superior organisational skills, able to switch context quickly with attention to detail
- ▹Experience at the current stage and beyond ($150-300M+ ARR range, high growth, building internal infrastructure)
Nice to have
- ▹Additional European languages such as Spanish
- ▹A background in the search industry or e-commerce
- ▹Specific knowledge of frameworks such as Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools
- ▹Familiarity with emerging concepts in agentic AI systems (autonomous reasoning, tool use, multi-agent orchestration)
- ▹Knowledge of Analytics and SEO
