Senior Product Data Analyst - Payments Tribe

The Payments Tribe is at the heart of SumUp, processing payments for over 4 million small businesses across 37 markets. Within the Processing product family, the analytics function helps product and engineering teams understand what is working and where the biggest opportunities lie. This role focuses on turning complex datasets into clear, trustworthy narratives that help people make faster, smarter decisions, and on building a resilient, scalable data culture. Based in the Sofia office with an office-first setup.
Responsibilities
- ▹Redesign and simplify key Tableau dashboards so non-expert stakeholders can answer 'how are we doing?' and 'why?' without analytical support
- ▹Define and iterate on KPI structures - what to show, what to exclude, and how to sequence metrics
- ▹Build a lightweight insights cadence: recurring updates interpreting what changed and what actions to consider
- ▹Establish scalable dashboard templates and self-serve patterns for consistent, trustworthy reporting
- ▹Ramp into deep Payments Processing domain knowledge to surface risks, opportunities and recommendations
Requirements
- ▹Strong hands-on experience with Tableau (or a comparable BI tool), backed by a portfolio showing reduced dashboard complexity
- ▹Solid SQL skills for analysis and validation across large datasets
- ▹Experience selecting and refining KPIs, avoiding vanity metrics and aligning to business goals
- ▹Excellent ability to translate ambiguous questions into measurable metrics and communicate to non-technical stakeholders
- ▹A product mindset toward data, treating dashboards as having an audience, a primary question and a cognitive load to manage
