Engineering Lead – Frontend & Mobile Platform (m/f/d)
Raisin is looking for an Engineering Lead with a strong software engineering background in frontend and mobile to lead its Frontend & Mobile Platform team. The team partners with product development teams to accelerate the software development lifecycle across all customer-facing applications, providing frameworks, tooling and guidance for building performant, secure and accessible web and mobile apps. The role shapes the vision of the Internal Developer Platform for client-side development. The team is mostly based in Berlin and partial onsite work is expected.
Responsibilities
- ▹Own the full end-to-end delivery cycle of web and mobile applications: requirements analysis, effort estimation, design, implementation, QA and delivery
- ▹Nurture an inspiring environment with open communication and a culture of trust
- ▹Proactively resolve impediments and mitigate risks, escalating in a timely manner
- ▹Collaborate closely with the team's Tech Lead and facilitate strategy and planning
- ▹Drive the OKR process, pairing OKRs with individual target agreements
- ▹Hire and onboard engineers and develop their soft and technical skill sets
- ▹Craft individual development plans, provide coaching and maintain strong performance standards
- ▹Drive the adoption of modern technologies, standardise architecture and optimise CI/CD pipelines for web and mobile delivery
Requirements
- ▹University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related fields, or equivalent practical experience
- ▹2+ years of leadership/people management experience with a strong focus on delivery
- ▹Hands-on experience introducing and scaling an Internal Developer Platform for client-side development
- ▹5+ years hands-on experience as a Frontend or Mobile Engineer (TypeScript, React, React Native, Next.js), wanting to stay a key contributor
- ▹Professional expertise building, deploying and operating web applications on Cloud services (AWS CloudFront/S3, Netlify, Vercel)
- ▹Ability to manage complex, cross-team software projects to successful, collaborative delivery
- ▹Up-to-date, in-depth knowledge of modern DevOps and DevEx practices, including CI/CD tools, mobile build automation and Terraform
- ▹Confidence driving technical and architectural discussions
- ▹Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, BFF layer, content and translation management systems and feature flags
- ▹Very good English communication skills
- ▹1+ year of experience leading distributed/remote/hybrid teams
