GetYourGuide is hiring a backend-focused Senior Software Engineer for its Developer Enablement Team to build and maintain the tools and platforms that empower its diverse engineering teams. The role focuses on CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and ArgoCD), GitHub access management, testing tools, local development, and AI-assisted engineering. It is a hybrid position ideal for engineers who want to boost developer productivity across Java, JavaScript, and Python teams.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Support and enhance CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD for reliable, efficient delivery
  • ▹Administer GitHub repositories, permissions, and workflows for secure, seamless collaboration
  • ▹Develop and maintain tooling to enhance automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) for Java, JavaScript, and Python projects
  • ▹Build and maintain tools to simplify local development environments
  • ▹Help maintain and evolve the in-house AI agent and developer workflows, and support AI-tool adoption
  • ▹Collaborate with Java, JavaScript, and Python developers to deliver cross-language tooling
  • ▹Write clean, maintainable backend code focused on practical, scalable solutions
  • ▹Experiment with new tools and practices, using feedback and metrics to refine solutions
  • ▹Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and team discussions

Requirements

  • ▹5+ years of backend development experience with at least one of Java, JavaScript/Node.js, Python, or Go, and willingness to work across languages
  • ▹Curious and proactive, eager to master new tools and practices
  • ▹Passion for delivering tools that make engineers' lives easier
  • ▹Pragmatic problem solver who iterates based on feedback
  • ▹Data-curious, interested in using metrics to validate and improve work
  • ▹Collaborative team player and proactive communicator
  • ▹Fluent in English
  • ▹Familiarity with Git, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and CI/CD concepts

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar tools
  • ▹Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and testing frameworks
  • ▹Experience creating tools or automations that improved developer productivity (AI-native a bonus)
