GetYourGuide is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel for Data, Privacy & AI, based at its Berlin HQ. You will be a trusted business partner acting as both enabler and guardian, taking ownership of core data protection workstreams and contributing to the legal team's growing use of AI tooling. The role embeds compliance into the products colleagues build and tracks regulatory developments in data protection and AI.
Responsibilities
- ▹Own core data protection operations end to end (Data Subject Requests, ROPA, DPIAs, data retention)
- ▹Set legal standards and provide oversight for privacy operational processes
- ▹Review and negotiate SaaS, vendor and AI tool agreements in the procurement legal review process
- ▹Embed privacy-by-design into product development and advise on AI features and new data flows
- ▹Track regulatory developments in data protection and AI and translate them into actionable updates
- ▹Contribute to the legal team's process improvement and AI tooling work
Requirements
- ▹Full legal qualifications (or alternative in-house qualifications) with excellent results
- ▹3-5+ years of post-graduate experience in an international law firm and/or tech company with data privacy and tech law exposure
- ▹Strong GDPR and data protection foundations across DPAs, DSARs, ROPA, DPIAs and retention
- ▹Comfortable owning these workstreams independently, not just advising
- ▹Genuine interest in AI regulation and the legal implications of AI-powered products
