A Mid-Level Backend Engineer role in HelloFresh's HelloTech organization (Warsaw), within the Payments Offering team of the Growth Alliance. The team designs, builds and maintains the core payment systems powering every transaction, integrating various payment methods to provide convenient and secure payment processing across all HelloFresh markets globally.
Responsibilities
- ▹Develop and maintain core backend services that integrate various payment methods for customer convenience
- ▹Contribute to the design, development, deployment and operations of payment systems, applying DevOps practices and pair programming
- ▹Participate as a collaborative member of autonomous, cross-functional agile teams with product owners, frontend and mobile developers
- ▹Build a solid understanding of HelloFresh's payment infrastructure, supporting teammates through code reviews and technical documentation
- ▹Work with modern technologies (AWS, Go/Kotlin, Kafka, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, observability tools) to build scalable, secure payment systems
Requirements
- ▹Solid backend development skills in a microservices architecture
- ▹Proficiency in one of Golang, Java or Kotlin
- ▹Working knowledge of containerization
- ▹Experience collaborating across teams to deliver reliable payment solutions
Nice to have
- ▹Experience with secure payment processing at scale
- ▹Familiarity with Kafka, Kubernetes and observability tooling
