Alan, a prevention insurance company serving 1M+ members, is hiring a Fullstack Software Engineer for its Data Foundations crew. The role centers on owning and evolving the GDPR Orchestrator - a shared platform for member data lifecycle and privacy-compliant-by-design engineering - and building self-serve tooling so the company's 15+ areas can manage their own data rules.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Own and evolve the GDPR Orchestrator: its core engine, safety mechanisms (preview/dry-run, audit trail), and operational health
  • ▹Design the contract that areas build on and keep it reliable as adoption grows
  • ▹Build the paved road: docs, templates, and self-serve tooling for 15+ areas to plug into the platform
  • ▹Coach areas through pairing and syncs, building capability rather than doing the work for them
  • ▹Coordinate across legal, security, data, and other teams as a cross-area bridge

Requirements

  • ▹Fullstack software engineering experience
  • ▹Experience with the stack: Python/Flask, TypeScript, React, React Native
  • ▹Experience with platform/infrastructure tools: AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, Terraform
  • ▹Understanding of privacy engineering and data lifecycle (GDPR)
  • ▹Ability to build reliable, scalable platforms with distributed ownership

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience with Datadog, Cloudflare, and GitHub Actions
  • ▹Experience working in a monorepo
