Senior Analytics Engineer – Data Governance
As an Analytics Engineer – Data Governance you become the architect of Qonto's data trust layer as the company transitions to a fully licensed bank. You own the Data Governance framework end-to-end: defining rules, implementing controls, monitoring quality and driving remediation across the company so that every compliance report is reliable and every business decision rests on trusted data. This is a first-of-its-kind role where you build the process from scratch rather than inheriting a mature playbook, working at the intersection of Data, Product, Engineering and Compliance.
Responsibilities
- ▹Build and operate the Data Governance framework, establishing data quality rules, standards and controls with a focus on banking compliance requirements
- ▹Implement and maintain data quality checks, designing and shipping dbt tests and source-level controls that catch issues before they reach compliance reports
- ▹Own the monitoring and remediation loop, producing regular data quality reporting and running follow-up rituals with stakeholders
- ▹Drive adoption of Data Governance tooling as the source of truth for the data catalogue and quality controls
- ▹Scale the program through AI and automation, building automated checks, monitoring pipelines, follow-up workflows and reporting logic
Requirements
- ▹Analytics Engineering expertise: strong in dbt and SQL, having shipped production-grade data models and tests and owning pipelines end-to-end
- ▹Stakeholder management: running rituals, following up persistently and communicating across technical and non-technical audiences with no direct authority
- ▹Process and compliance mindset with care for precision, documentation and "what can go wrong" thinking in environments with regulatory consequences
- ▹AI-native work style, using AI tools daily for code generation, automation and agents
- ▹Appetite for building from ambiguity and blank pages
- ▹French speaker (a key requirement)
Nice to have
- ▹Python for automation
Soft skills
What we offer
- ▹A first-of-its-kind role with high autonomy and ownership, writing the playbook rather than inheriting it
- ▹Direct impact on Qonto's transition from Payment Institution to Credit Institution
- ▹Broad stakeholder exposure with senior PMs, Backend, data owners and Risk & Compliance teams
- ▹Daily use of AI as a multiplier for governance work
- ▹Growth potential to Staff-level scope and potentially leading a small team in 2-3 years
