A Senior Backend Engineer role in N26's Everyday Banking domain on the Payments team, where payment and card transactions are managed by modern high-volume systems. This is a hybrid role from the Berlin or Barcelona office, focused on building reliable, secure, and seamless banking systems.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Collaborate with the Tech Lead on architecting new features and seeing them through to completion
  • ▹Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software in a thriving environment
  • ▹Mentor junior team members and guard code quality through pull requests
  • ▹Stay up to date with technology trends and propose findings during Get Stuff Done Days
  • ▹Work within a cross-functional team to uphold the highest technical standards

Requirements

  • ▹Experience developing software using a JVM language and Spring Boot in large-scale production systems
  • ▹Sound understanding of microservice architecture
  • ▹Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, preferably Postgres
  • ▹Appreciation of modern cloud architecture, preferably AWS

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience with Kotlin
