An experienced Data Engineer role within N26's Data Experience Team in the Platform Engineering Domain, focused on building scalable, secure database and data storage platforms. The position involves cloud infrastructure work, CI/CD, and close collaboration with product and analytics teams.
Responsibilities
- ▹Build and maintain platform solutions improving reliability, security, and scalability of the Database Platform infrastructure
- ▹Apply cloud infrastructure, networking, and CI/CD best practices to operational data storage solutions
- ▹Collaborate with Product and Analytics teams on orchestration, access, and metadata management
- ▹Contribute to the team roadmap by delivering high-quality code and infrastructure improvements
- ▹Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshooting to maintain a stable environment
- ▹Maintain and enhance observability solutions (metrics, logging, tracing) to meet SLOs
Requirements
- ▹Hands-on experience maintaining cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS
- ▹Experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS)
- ▹Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- ▹Competence in at least one programming language (Python preferred)
- ▹Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or similar)
- ▹Experience with dbt and workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow
- ▹Familiarity with cloud networking, security, and observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
Nice to have
- ▹Knowledge of database internals: performance tuning, high-availability (replication/failover), sharding/clustering
- ▹Backend Engineer experience
- ▹Familiarity with metadata platforms (OpenMetadata)
