MongoDB Technical Services Engineers use exceptional problem-solving and customer service skills, combined with deep technical experience, to advise customers and solve complex MongoDB problems across the entire ecosystem (database server, drivers, Atlas, Cloud Manager). The role is based in MongoDB's Dublin office, starting in-office Monday to Friday for 3-6 months before transitioning to a Tuesday-to-Saturday schedule for weekend coverage. Engineers also contribute to internal support tooling projects.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Work alongside the largest customers to solve complex challenges in architecture, performance, recovery and security
  • ▹Act as an expert resource on best practices for running MongoDB at scale
  • ▹Advocate for customers' needs by interfacing with product management and development teams
  • ▹Contribute to internal projects including support tools for performance, benchmarking and diagnostics
  • ▹Provide weekend coverage as part of a 24/7 support organization

Requirements

  • ▹Strong technical experience in one or more of: systems administration, distributed systems, network administration, database architecture/administration, application or data architecture, performance tuning and benchmarking
  • ▹Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ▹Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • ▹Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems in real time
  • ▹Desire and ability to rapidly learn new technical skills
  • ▹Willingness to work from the Dublin office and provide weekend coverage

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience with Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, Go, PHP or Perl
  • ▹Operations background administering large-scale production environments (hardware, OS, networks)
  • ▹Experience with cloud resources such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
