Senior Cloud Engineer | Infrastructure & Networking | Europe remote
n8n, the open workflow orchestration platform for the AI era, is hiring a Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Networking Engineer to strengthen the cloud infrastructure and networking foundations powering n8n Cloud. You will work hands-on across platform engineering, networking, reliability, and architecture as the platform scales across Azure regions from 500k toward 10M users and prepares for future multi-cloud expansion. The role sits in a small, high-trust Cloud Platform team with strong individual autonomy and real influence over architectural decisions.
Responsibilities
- ▹Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern deployment tooling
- ▹Support regional rollouts and platform improvements as n8n Cloud scales toward millions of users
- ▹Apply production networking expertise to multi-region topology, ingress/egress, peering, routing, DNS, TLS, and connectivity patterns
- ▹Improve Kubernetes networking across CNI, ingress controllers, and cloud-native infrastructure layers
- ▹Contribute to on-call, incident response, performance tuning, and critical bug fixes
- ▹Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability to reduce operational toil
- ▹Strengthen security posture through automation, segmentation, DDoS/WAF considerations, and zero-trust principles
- ▹Lead significant infrastructure projects independently, such as new region rollouts or cross-team initiatives
- ▹Partner with Cloud engineers, Product, Security, Support, Customer Success, Sales, and cloud provider teams
Requirements
- ▹Hands-on experience managing and deploying infrastructure on Azure, GCP, or AWS
- ▹Experience designing and scaling cloud-native infrastructure for complex, widely used platforms
- ▹Strong production networking expertise: VNets/VPCs, peering, routing, network topologies, DNS, load balancing, TLS, ingress/egress, service mesh at scale
- ▹Strong production Kubernetes experience, including networking concepts such as CNI, ingress controllers, and service mesh
- ▹Confidence with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
- ▹Security-first mindset for building secure, resilient systems
- ▹Strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines, build processes, and deployment workflows
- ▹Experience with monitoring, alerting, observability, and performance tuning in production
Nice to have
- ▹Hands-on experience building or operating infrastructure on Azure
- ▹Multi-cloud networking experience with AWS or GCP in addition to Azure
- ▹Experience in a scrappy startup, high-trust small team, or entrepreneurial environment
