Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Tax team, focusing on international taxes in jurisdictions outside the United States. The role leads critical project management, communications, and operational efforts within a global Finance team and has two direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Lead all aspects of international GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory tax provisions, working with internal teams and external auditors
  • ▹Ensure compliance with SOX controls and reporting as a public company
  • ▹Oversee and manage external consultants for timely, accurate tax returns, R&D credit studies, foreign tax returns, Pillar 2, and transfer pricing compliance
  • ▹Coordinate and manage compliance audits and inquiries from tax authorities
  • ▹Support tax projects such as acquisitions, restructurings, tax planning, and legal entity assessment
  • ▹Monitor and analyze global tax legislation and its impact on Elastic
  • ▹Research international tax technical issues (corporate tax focused, also assisting with other taxes)
  • ▹Mentor and train direct reports and others to foster tax knowledge and collaborative relationships

Requirements

  • ▹Tax provision experience under US GAAP (required)
  • ▹Experience managing tax compliance (required)
  • ▹Bachelor's degree in accountancy
  • ▹5+ years of progressive experience across both industry and large accounting firms working with global companies
  • ▹Experience with NetSuite, OneSource Tax Provision, OneSource Uncertain Tax Position
  • ▹Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • ▹Strong analytical and management skills with experience in process improvement, automation, and efficiency

Nice to have

  • ▹IFRS experience (strongly preferred)
  • ▹CPA and/or MS in Tax (strongly preferred)
  • ▹Passion for fast-paced, dynamic environments and ability to adapt quickly
  • ▹Data-driven strategic thinking and willingness to challenge convention
  • ▹Proficiency in optimizing processes and programs
  • ▹Experience with NetSuite
  • ▹A sense of humor and ability to roll with the punches
