As part of DEPT®'s EMEA Data craft team within the Data & AI practice, the Senior Data Engineer executes the data engineering strategy and delivers technical excellence on complex client projects. The role combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen, working closely with clients to translate business challenges into robust data engineering solutions. Hybrid: Manchester, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Budapest.
Responsibilities
- ▹Design and implement scalable, reliable data architectures and pipelines for enterprise clients
- ▹Help set and maintain technical standards and best practices for data engineering across EMEA
- ▹Provide expert guidance on client engagements as a senior technical contributor
- ▹Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation
- ▹Work closely with the broader Data & AI practice to deliver integrated solutions
- ▹Stay ahead of emerging technologies and methodologies in the data engineering space
Requirements
- ▹Extensive experience in data engineering with a proven track record of delivering complex data initiatives
- ▹Deep expertise in designing and implementing data architectures, data pipelines and ETL processes
- ▹Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure) and their data-specific services
- ▹Proficiency in Python, SQL and data orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt)
- ▹Experience with modern data warehouse technologies such as BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift
- ▹Strong understanding of data modeling, data governance and data quality principles
