Staff Software Engineer, Product (Florianópolis)
LawnStarter is the nation's leading on-demand marketplace for lawn care and outdoor services, with over $100M in annual bookings. This is a remote role for candidates located in Florianópolis, Brazil. As a Staff Software Engineer, you're the engineering anchor of an initiative: you see the full lifecycle from problem-framing through production, directing AI coding agents to implement much of the code, and owning the outcome with your team.
Responsibilities
- ▹Own the technical approach: architecture, data model, integration choices, rollout plan, observability, and rollback strategy for your initiative
- ▹Bring significant architectural decisions to architect review, document them, and revisit if the data says you were wrong
- ▹Ensure implementation quality: the prompts, guardrails, evals, tests, and review loop that let agents ship safe, correct, production-ready code
- ▹Be accountable for agent-authored code, held to the same standard as the rest of the team in a shared codebase
- ▹Cross-functional partnership: daily working contact with your PM and designer, regular collaboration with peers, and weekly check-ins with your EM
- ▹Own the initiative outcome: move the target metric and present results with your PM 2-4 weeks post-launch
- ▹Maintain a high bar for what ships: production correctness, security, performance, and observability
Requirements
- ▹Candidate located in Florianópolis, Brazil
- ▹Staff-level engineering experience with the ability to make technical calls independently
- ▹Experience owning the full lifecycle: problem-framing, technical approach, shipping to production, and owning the outcome
- ▹Leading AI coding agents at a senior-level quality bar: prompts, evals, tests, and observability
- ▹Experience working in a shared codebase
