HelloFresh is looking for a business-oriented leader to architect and own the financial operating model for its entire cloud infrastructure. As the single-threaded owner, you will optimize one of the company's largest technology investments, transforming cloud spend from a complex cost center into a predictable, efficient engine for innovation, while supporting multi-million-dollar contract negotiations and driving cultural change across engineering.
Responsibilities
- ▹Act as the evangelist for Cloud FinOps, championing a culture of cost ownership across engineering with dashboards, insights and training.
- ▹Architect governance and accountability: design a universal resource tagging strategy and robust showback/chargeback models.
- ▹Drive a company-wide continuous optimization program, partnering with engineering to refactor applications for cost and eliminate systemic waste.
- ▹Develop and execute the commercial strategy and lead negotiations with cloud vendors, right-sizing commitments to align with business strategy.
- ▹Build and operate a data-driven forecasting and budgeting model with the Tech and Finance organizations.
Requirements
- ▹7+ years in dedicated Cloud FinOps or Cloud Financial Management roles, with success managing significant AWS spend.
- ▹Deep expertise in AWS cost structures, including Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Spot and the Cost and Usage Report (CUR).
- ▹Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills to build data-driven business cases that influence executive decisions.
- ▹Hands-on ability to partner with engineering teams to optimize application architecture for cost.
- ▹Demonstrable experience leading or participating in large-scale commercial negotiations with a major cloud vendor.
- ▹Proven track record of designing and building a Cloud FinOps practice from an early stage.
Nice to have
- ▹Proficiency with scripting (e.g., Python/Bash).
- ▹Experience with third-party tools (e.g., Vantage, CloudHealth).
