SumUp's Point-of-Sale (POS) solution helps cafes, shops, bars, hair salons and other businesses operate and grow, offering product catalogs, inventory management, business analytics, compliance support and loyalty tools integrated into the SumUp SuperApp. As a Senior Android Developer you will help implement the company's Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) strategy, enabling shared development across Android and iOS, while working with a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Build new features for the item catalog within the SumUp SuperApp
  • ▹Improve the application architecture and contribute to the Kotlin Multiplatform strategy
  • ▹Enhance and maintain the unified Android app distributed across 60+ countries
  • ▹Shape the product's evolution by identifying improvement opportunities and contributing to daily decision-making
  • ▹Write thorough documentation and implement robust testing before shipping features
  • ▹Collaborate closely with Designers, Product Managers and Android engineers for a unified UX across platforms

Requirements

  • ▹8+ years of experience in mobile engineering with Android and Kotlin
  • ▹2+ years of experience with Jetpack Compose
  • ▹Solid understanding of software design patterns (e.g. MVVM, MVI) and modular, scalable app architectures
  • ▹Good knowledge of reactive programming (Flow, Coroutines and concurrency)
  • ▹Strong grasp of testing best practices
  • ▹Strive for clean code with a balance of pragmatism and perfection
  • ▹Keen interest in multi-platform development using Kotlin Multiplatform
