GetYourGuide, the leading marketplace for travel experiences, is hiring a backend-focused Senior Software Engineer for its Supply area within Marketplace. You will work in a cross-functional mission team building supplier infrastructure and marketplace features that drive growth on a global scale. The stack includes Java, Spring Boot, Vue.js, Node.js, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Kafka and Kubernetes, with strong emphasis on mature AI tool adoption.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Work with engineers, designers and analysts in a cross-functional mission team
  • ▹Enable the team to iterate fast by designing, launching and iterating on A/B experiments
  • ▹Maintain high-quality standards and continuously improve the codebase, systems and processes
  • ▹Design and develop efficient solutions that continue to scale
  • ▹Mentor team members and be involved with hiring
  • ▹Lead the team in adopting and evaluating new AI technologies with strong quality and governance standards

Requirements

  • ▹6+ years of software development experience
  • ▹Expertise in web application development using component-based frameworks
  • ▹High proficiency in Java
  • ▹Experience designing architecture and deployment of web applications and services
  • ▹Experience with writing tests
  • ▹Mature judgment in when and how to use AI tools; excellent written and verbal communication in English

Nice to have

  • ▹Knowledge of Node.js, Vue.js or similar component-based frontend frameworks
  • ▹Experience with A/B testing, hypothesis building and event-based analytics
  • ▹Prior experience in e-commerce
  • ▹Prior experience in start-up environments
