HelloFresh is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer at its Smart parc site in Spondon, Derby, working a rotating day/night shift pattern (0600-1800 and 1800-0600). As the site Subject Matter Expert for control systems, maintenance engineering, sensors, PLCs, communication protocols and automation, you will work with facilities and maintenance teams to maintain and repair conveyance, automation and facilities equipment, supporting operations uptime and improving system reliability.
Responsibilities
- ▹Actively monitor, fault-find and repair systems in a hands-on manner to provide high equipment availability to internal customers
- ▹Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned automation, robotics and control panels
- ▹Troubleshoot out-of-service equipment, act as an escalation point for lower-level technicians and escalate to leadership/vendors as needed
- ▹Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and ticketing systems
- ▹Mentor maintenance personnel in developing skills and knowledge in automation, controls and robotics
- ▹Lead root cause analysis of major downtime events and act as a network resource for network-wide analysis
- ▹Partner with engineering on the commissioning of new controls systems
- ▹Audit vendor work and provide feedback to leadership on quality of work and SLA performance
- ▹Write and modify preventive maintenance procedures to standardize across the network and increase effectiveness
Requirements
- ▹Qualified or with a solid practical understanding in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- ▹Experience in Automation, Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering, ideally in a manufacturing or production environment such as FMCG
- ▹Proficient in PLC-controlled systems and automated processes: programming, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and related control systems
- ▹Comfortable interpreting technical manuals, engineering drawings and schematics to support diagnostics
- ▹Skilled in reactive and preventative maintenance, with a track record of handling second-line escalations and CMMS tasks
- ▹Adept in material handling systems, with exposure to flow analysis, capacity visualization and process monitoring
- ▹A confident communicator and mentor, able to coach junior engineers and step in as proxy for senior automation engineers
- ▹Experienced in leading Root Cause Analysis, supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives, and familiar with DIQ and WMS systems
