An Automation Engineer role at HelloFresh's Barleben site (near Magdeburg), acting as the site specialist for all control systems, sensors, PLCs, communication protocols, and automation. Working with the maintenance team, the role optimizes conveyance and automation equipment to support uptime and improve system reliability, and involves shift work.

Responsibilities

▹Actively monitor, fault find and improve systems to ensure high availability for the internal production-team customers
▹Take main responsibility for the automation, robotics and control systems area
▹Perform active fault finding and correction on PLC, SCADA, cameras, sensors etc. for automation control
▹Collaborate with the automation team and share knowledge with team members
▹Train technicians on the basics of control-system fault finding to raise the site's knowledge level
▹Support installation and commissioning of new equipment with local/regional teams and maintain accurate backup libraries
▹Document all work in the CMMS and ticketing system and own root cause analysis of fault events

Requirements

▹Completed degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, or comparable experience in industrial automation
▹At least 3-4 years experience with Siemens (TIA, WinCC and WinCC flexible), Cognex cameras (DataMan) and Rockwell (Studio 5000) on automation projects, installation and commissioning, and CIP projects
▹Understanding of industrial communication protocols: EtherNet/IP, Profibus/Profinet, ASI-Bus, MODBUS/TCP
▹Good written and spoken German and advanced English
▹Willingness to work in shifts

Nice to have

▹Experience in material handling, flow control, SCADA and MHE performance monitoring systems
▹Participation in or leadership of continuous improvement (CIP) projects
