Senior Sales Engineer - German Speaker
Algolia, a market leader in AI-powered search and discovery, is hiring a Senior Solutions Engineer with fluent German to own the technical pre-sales relationship across opportunities and accounts. You will partner with Account Executives to demonstrate the product and architecture, address technical and business objections, and deliver consultative solutions that lead to a strong technical win. The role spans deep technical expertise and trusted-advisor work, from presenting to a CTO to building prototypes with customer engineers using Algolia's APIs. This is a hybrid position with on-target earnings of £97,000–£112,500 GBP.
Responsibilities
- ▹Work with sales teams and prospects on their evaluation and adoption of Algolia solutions
- ▹Understand and qualify customer goals with KPIs and articulate how Algolia can meet them
- ▹Support the sales process including discovery, demos, Proofs of Concept, RFP responses and business justification
- ▹Develop custom search applications using the tools, frameworks and partners of the Algolia ecosystem
- ▹Distill and advocate customer interests, needs and product feedback to Product and Engineering teams
- ▹Stay aware of Search and Discovery industry trends and contribute to thought leadership
- ▹Collaborate with Solution Architects and Customer Success teams to ensure a smooth transition to post-sales onboarding
Requirements
- ▹Fluent German
- ▹4+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role (SE, SA, consultant, PM), ideally in SaaS
- ▹Previous software development experience in front-end (JavaScript, TypeScript, React) or back-end (Java, Ruby, Go, Node, Python, Swift/Objective-C)
- ▹Experience with data formats and data transformation
- ▹Strong oral and written communication skills
- ▹Superior organizational skills and the ability to switch context quickly across multiple customers
- ▹Experience at a high-growth company at the $150-300M+ ARR stage
Nice to have
- ▹Background in the search industry or e-commerce
- ▹Knowledge of frameworks such as Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools
- ▹Familiarity with agentic AI concepts (autonomous reasoning, tool use, multi-agent orchestration)
- ▹Knowledge of Analytics and SEO
