Senior AI Engineer (Legal topics)
As a Legal AI Engineer at Qonto you co-build the vision of an "Augmented Legal Department", a future where AI and humans work side by side to scale legal capacity across Europe. You design and ship the agents, tools and operating model that will redefine how the Legal team works, in close partnership with the General Counsel. You own the full lifecycle of production-ready AI agents, from prototyping to deployment and maintenance, and drive adoption across a 20-person Legal team spread across France, Italy, Spain and Germany.
Responsibilities
- ▹Co-create the "Augmented Legal" vision for 2028/2030, mapping Legal's workflows and defining what is agentizable
- ▹Build and ship production-ready AI agents across their full lifecycle, from prototyping to deployment and maintenance
- ▹Design the humans + agents operating model, including governance, ownership, quality standards, access rules and adoption rituals
- ▹Drive adoption across the Legal team through demos, training and feedback loops
- ▹Use AI natively in your own work with tools such as Claude and Cursor
Requirements
- ▹Strong software engineering fundamentals, having shipped production software end-to-end with ownership from problem framing to delivery
- ▹Practical AI/LLM engineering mindset, having built agents or AI-powered systems and understanding orchestration, evaluation and reliability
- ▹Product thinking: you define the problem, shape the roadmap and iterate on real user feedback
- ▹High autonomy and entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and owning decisions end-to-end
- ▹Stakeholder management in cross-functional environments, earning the trust of legal professionals, engineers and leadership
