A Cyber Security Engineer role within Bitpanda's Security Operations team, focused on protecting the fintech platform by detecting threats and responding to incidents. The engineer builds detections in Elastic Security, automates repetitive security tasks and investigates security events across a cloud-native environment. It is an early-to-mid level role working alongside experienced security engineers.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Develop, test and tune detection rules in Elastic Security (ES|QL/KQL)
  • ▹Investigate security events and perform proactive threat hunting across AWS, Elastic and Datadog
  • ▹Build scripts, API integrations and SOAR workflows to automate security operations
  • ▹Monitor AWS security events and contribute to system hardening and security tooling
  • ▹Support compliance activities including ISO 27001, PCI DSS and DORA

Requirements

  • ▹2-5 years of experience in information security, security engineering or security operations
  • ▹Exposure to incident response, SIEM, threat hunting or cloud security
  • ▹Experience writing scripts or automating workflows using APIs or security tooling
  • ▹Solid understanding of AWS or another major cloud platform, networking fundamentals and system hardening

Nice to have

  • ▹Experience with Elastic Security, ES|QL or KQL
