MongoDB is forming a new Atlas Clusters Modernization team in Dublin and seeks an Engineering Manager to grow it. The team builds foundational services that allow Atlas clusters to be provisioned, updated, and maintained, enabling new cluster topologies, cloud provider capabilities, hardware/OS upgrades, and expansion into new regions. The role is hands-on and follows a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Lead a team of motivated individual contributors
  • ▹Contribute to the code, design, and architecture of the team's systems
  • ▹Build the roadmap and product offerings with stakeholders across MongoDB
  • ▹Work with customers and support engineers to fix issues and join the on-call rotation
  • ▹Collaborate with team members on the codebase, best practices, and design principles
  • ▹Foster an inclusive and respectful work environment

Requirements

  • ▹At least 6 years of professional software development experience
  • ▹At least 3 years of people management experience
  • ▹Experience leading engineering teams that built and maintained large-scale systems
  • ▹Skilled at writing large-scale distributed backend systems in a compiled language (Go, Java, C#)
  • ▹Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • ▹Excellent communication skills
