MongoDB is hiring a Director of Engineering for its Dublin-based Atlas Clusters Organization, which builds the company's database-as-a-service offering across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role leads teams owning critical pieces of the Atlas Clusters Control Plane and Data Plane. It follows a hybrid working model and requires candidates based in Dublin.
Responsibilities
- ▹Lead teams of engineering leads and individual contributors
- ▹Build the roadmap and product offerings with stakeholders across MongoDB
- ▹Collaborate with product management and senior leadership to design and ship Atlas Clusters Control Plane and Data Plane improvements
- ▹Ensure smooth, timely project execution and provide visibility to stakeholders
- ▹Support customers during escalations and join the on-call rotation
- ▹Grow the organization with strong skill composition, job satisfaction, and a healthy culture
Requirements
- ▹At least 5 years of people management experience
- ▹At least 8 years of professional software development experience
- ▹Experience leading engineering teams that built and maintained large-scale systems
- ▹Proven success designing, writing, testing, and maintaining large-scale distributed backend systems
- ▹Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- ▹Excellent communication skills and strong cross-organization collaboration
