Senior Cloud Performance Engineer
ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Cloud Performance Engineer to help build the cloud-native ClickHouse Cloud Platform that aims to transform the OLAP space. The ideal candidate is a distributed systems performance engineer with a strong background in database benchmarking, test automation, system engineering, performance analysis, and capacity management, who will also drive Chaos Engineering initiatives across the platform.
Responsibilities
- ▹Benchmark system performance, analyze database performance, and handle capacity sizing and optimization
- ▹Troubleshoot and debug application and server errors and logs, and triage accordingly
- ▹Recommend configuration tuning and optimizations for performance bottlenecks
- ▹Partner with the core development, cloud, and security teams to improve ClickHouse Cloud performance
- ▹Plan, enable, and drive Chaos initiatives across engineering teams based on internal priorities
- ▹Develop, deploy, and manage tools to run chaos experiments and measure their impact
- ▹Study software resilience, operational, and delivery problems and extend the backend to enable Chaos Engineering
Requirements
- ▹6+ years of relevant software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
- ▹Software development experience in Go, C/C++, Java, or similar
- ▹Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and deployment of distributed system architectures
- ▹Experience developing cloud infrastructure services, preferably with Kubernetes
- ▹Experience leading and shipping large-scope technical projects with multiple engineers
- ▹Expertise with a public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and its IaaS offerings (e.g. EC2)
