Staff Solutions Architect, New Logo - UK
The Staff Solutions Architect is Temporal's primary customer-facing technical leader within the New Logo team, focused on the UK region. You will work directly with prospects and customers, helping them understand whether their applications are suitable for Temporal's platform, showcasing the technical advantages of the cloud service, positioning Temporal against alternative technologies and owning the technical relationship with key decision-makers. Travel is expected to be 25–50%. The estimated pay range is £150,000–£190,000 with a 70/30 base/variable split, plus participation in Temporal's equity plan.
Responsibilities
- ▹Help prospects understand whether their application is suitable for Temporal
- ▹Help customers and prospects understand the technical benefits and drawbacks of the Temporal platform and cloud service
- ▹Position Temporal successfully against alternative technologies or technical patterns
- ▹Create the conditions in customer engineering organizations that allow them to expand the number of production applications using Temporal
- ▹Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute an overall account plan
- ▹Own the relationship with customer technical decision-makers in evaluating and operating Temporal applications
- ▹Travel 25–50% of the time
Requirements
- ▹Excellent technical communication skills (presenting, whiteboarding, writing)
- ▹Comfort discussing distributed system technologies, design decisions and best practices
- ▹Ability to construct application prototypes and provide design, development, build and deployment guidance in one of Temporal's supported languages (Java, Go, TypeScript, Python, PHP, C#, Ruby)
- ▹Conversant in operating applications in production: security, reliability, performance, cost management and operations
- ▹Ability to offer helpful advice and sound arguments on architectural topics such as application patterns and platform architectures
- ▹Comfort working with at least one major cloud provider and its common application development and production services
- ▹Ability to serve as a technical advisor to Sales Account Executives: identifying good and poor fit use cases, scoping and sizing opportunities
