Sentry, the application monitoring platform trusted by more than 200,000 organizations, is hiring a Software Engineer for its Client Infrastructure team. You will work hands-on with the core ingestion pipelines – including the open-source Relay and Symbolicator projects – that process millions of events every minute. The focus is on globally distributed, horizontally scalable systems built primarily in Rust, alongside Python, designed to handle over a billion events daily.
Responsibilities
- ▹Design, build and operate globally distributed, horizontally scalable infrastructure to reliably ingest mission-critical data from customer applications
- ▹Continuously improve and evolve the data processing pipeline and supporting services together with the Client Infrastructure team
- ▹Solve complex problems in distributed systems, performance optimization and high-throughput data processing
- ▹Use multiple programming languages (primarily Rust, alongside Python) to address critical system-level challenges
- ▹Partner with Infrastructure and Operations teams to architect solutions designed to handle over a billion events daily
- ▹Ensure correctness and maintainability through comprehensive unit and integration testing and clear documentation
- ▹Participate in an on-call rotation to support the stability and operational health of the services
Requirements
- ▹2+ years of relevant experience
- ▹Experience with compiled programming languages (C, C++, Rust)
- ▹Experience solving complex problems by developing high-quality, high-performance software
- ▹Ability to thrive with minimal supervision
- ▹Passion for software and system design
- ▹Good written and spoken English communication skills

- ▹Starting salary of EUR 81,000 gross per year, adjusted to the current market (the legally required minimum per the IT-KV collective agreement is EUR 47,400 gross per year)
