Proton seeks a Test Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of Proton Pass, its password manager, across Android, iOS, and Web platforms. This independent contributor role involves establishing QA processes, developing and maintaining test cases, and supporting frequent releases as an embedded member of the product team.

Responsibilities

  • ▹Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers as an embedded team member
  • ▹Review feature specifications and wireframes and ensure testable acceptance criteria with the Product Owner
  • ▹Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases with strong product functionality understanding
  • ▹Identify and track quality issues, reporting clear and accurate bug reports
  • ▹Promote and adhere to quality best practices to ensure high-quality deliverables

Requirements

  • ▹Professional experience working on Web and at least one mobile platform (Android or iOS)
  • ▹Proficiency in manual testing, including creation and review of test plans and cases
  • ▹Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes
  • ▹Good capacity for prioritization
  • ▹Previous work experience in an agile or scrum framework

Nice to have

  • ▹Interest in privacy and security software
  • ▹Good understanding of using a password manager
  • ▹Automation QA experience
  • ▹Being up to date with the latest technology evolution
